New Global Internet Portal Community Features Elderly Care Management
CINCINNATI – March 13, 2003 – CH Mack, Inc., in cooperation with Council on Aging, Silicon Valley, California, today announced the general availability of CareAccess™, the first consumer-focused, fully integrated, web-based internet community to meet the data needs of health and human services agencies that provide care to this country's growing elderly population. This new internet portal community will feature CH Mack's premier case management software, Q Continuum System™, an integrated software solution for comprehensive care management services. CareAccess™ enables care managers across multiple health and social service programs to automatically access critical consumer data without imposing undue hardship on the service recipient.
"The elimination of multiple providers gathering the same consumer information has long been a goal of many policy makers within the aging network," said Tom Mack, Vice President of CH Mack.
Unlike other industries, information technology has not played a significant role in broadly automating the health and human service industry. This will change as we continue to face a growing population of aging seniors. By providing a single internet community access point that is globally available, CareAccess™ and CH Mack are on the leading edge of implementing information technology for meeting health and human services needs.
According to CareAccess™ Director Manuel Altamirano, "The partnership between CH Mack and CareAccess™ represents a paradigm shift for the health and human services industry by creating a truly integrated internet community that serves agencies and service providers at the local and state levels."
CH Mack has worked with Council on Aging, Silicon Valley to create a single access point for social service case managers. This capability will enable a "virtual private portal" for case managers to assess, plan, deliver, track, and pay for a range of health and human services for the elderly in near real-time, with no additional expenditures for network infrastructure beyond a standard internet ISP connection. To access the CareAccess™ portal requires only a user name and password along with an ISP connection provided by CareAccess™. CareAccess™ is fully HIPAA compliant.
