CH Mack Announces New Managed Health Care Software
‘Evergreen’ Product Allows Users to Reconfigure
as Demands Change
Cincinnati, OH -- The price of
health care may be rising, but one Cincinnati health
care software company is determined to help managed care
providers cut costs-- and improve patient care.
CH Mack announces development of its new MedCompass™
product—software that allows health care providers to
track and treat patients with its patient-centric
system.
MedCompass utilizes easy-to-use, next-generation,
browser-based media and interactive Web applications. It
employs service-oriented architecture (SOA) to help
users integrate claims, care guidelines, payroll, EMR,
lab data and billing. CH Mack’s platform architecture is
easily configured and can be extended with client needs,
improving business agility, simplifying integration, and
supporting business process management (BPM) and .NET
initiatives.
“These functions allow a provider a virtual
one-stop shop in caring for a patient.,” said Chris
Boue, CH Mack president. “A user can track a patient and
treat that patient as he or she moves through the health
care system.”
MedCompass is also adaptable to health care user
needs. “When health care organizations invest in a
system, they don’t want to spend additional revenue to
re-organize their business or work flow process,” he
added. “Inevitably, though, we all tweak our systems.
With our ‘evergreen’ software, once an associate is
trained or certified, he or she can easily make work
flow and procedural changes.“
The software is also user-friendly. “We understand
that health providers need software that new hires and
newly-trained employees can easily operate,” said
Melinda Rea, marketing director. “Our software has a low
learning-curve and a high adoption rate.”
From a technical perspective, MedCompass allows
changes to workflow, task queues, and standard objects
like patient, care plan, clinical data, and provider. It
also links to external systems such as claims, care
guidelines, standard data formats like Health Level VII
and HIPAA Transaction Sets, robust assessment/surveys,
and reporting capability and tools.
CH Mack is a 16-year-old company with 95 managed
care, government and health care customers. Its software
helps case workers serve seven million people.
